College has started again and whoa! Winter is here!

Last week, on the 5th of January, I started my third quarter at Columbus State Community College. Time has flown by! I am taking ASL II, Fingerspelling, and Humanities.

I love my ASL classes, but Humanities kinda sucks. There is too much reading and the art lectures...come on, who wants to stare at a painting or listen to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and analyze it for 2-1/2 hours? Yeah, we did listen to that song and analyze it. So, I'll muddle through that class and hope it becomes more interesting. I chose Humanities 112 because that class goes from the Renaissance period to the present. I like those time periods, but wow, there is a lot to do for that class.

I love college though. Meeting new people and having new experiences. There's nothing like it.

Okay, so I walk to school everyday and today was no different. I put on my scarf, gloves, and heavy coat because I knew it was going to be cold. Little did I know it would start snowing on my way to school. Snow flew into my glasses and eyes and by the time I arrived at school, I literally looked like a walking snowman. I peered into the glass of one of the doors there at college while I was still outside and laughed out loud. What was I going to do? So, I put down my book bag and shook like a dog would. People laughed as the snow flew off me. I was embarrassed, but it got the job done. Walking home was the same...I wish I had a pic of myself with snow all over me. Hee hee!

Went to visit my girls...

So, I went up to Ft. Wayne to see my girls and also to see my middle daughter get baptized. Okay, so imagine being divorced from a Mennonite woman, am gay, and going to a church for a baptism...with all her aunts and uncles, her parents and family. PLUS, my ex-wife's boyfriend. YIKES!
Okay, so it wasn't that bad. Everyone was sooo nice, shook my hand, the aunts gave me hugs and said they missed me. I mean, they are the epitome of what Christians should be. They love the sinner, but hate the sin. Okay..I know...being gay isn't a sin, I'm just writing from their point of view to give you the scoop. I was really impressed. Christy(my ex-wife) was nice, but markedly anxious because her boyfriend was there. She would look at me once in a while and grin her cute goofy grin. Yeah, I like her a lot, but we both know I do not love her. That's okay though. I didn't get to meet her boyfriend. That's okay. I will someday if things go right between them. I really want Christy to be happy.

So before the church service, I spent two days with the girls and had SO much fun. We really are close and I am glad. I'm sure when they find out why I left there will be some friction, but we'll get through it. There is too much love there to let anything separate us. I'm confident about that.

Well, that's about it...good times...
